Student Opportunities

The following opportunities are available to Oakland Catholic High School students through local Colleges, Universities, and businesses. These opportunities are presented to our students so they can have first hand experiences in the fields that interest them most.

October 5, 2019 - Society of Women Engineers (SWE), University of Pittsburgh

Free engineering event for any students in 9th-12th grades:

Pitt SWE's Fall 2019 High School Engineering Day is coming up on October 5th! The event will run from 9:30-2:45 and will take place in Benedum Hall, 3700 O'Hara Street, Pittsburgh PA 15213. Lunch will be provided.

Students at the event will have the opportunity to engage in some hands-on engineering activities, hear from a professional engineer, take a tour of our engineering school, and ask engineering students on a Q&A panel about engineering (or college, or life, or anything else!). This year, we will also have extra volunteers on hand during lunch so that students have the opportunity to talk one-on-one or in small groups with women currently in engineering school.

Street parking is available around Benedum and there is a parking garage located under Soldiers and Sailors (4141 Fifth Avenue).
