OC Career Symposium

Sadly, our Second Annual OC Career Symposium was thwarted by an unavoidable snow day. We appreciate all our participants' commitment to this event and look forward to a successful Symposium next year!

Read the description of this year's plans below for an idea of what to expect in 2020.

In our ongoing mission to prepare the young women of Oakland Catholic for the future, the offices of Advancement, School Counseling, and School Administration are pleased to once again offer the OC Career Symposium to our ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders.

The day will kick off with our esteemed Keynote Speaker, janera solomon, followed by panel presentations, discussions and Q&A sessions that reflect a range of career pathways and options. Students will have the unique opportunity to hear from a diverse array of female professionals as they share their experiences, advice and thoughts on the themes below:

All Things Tech

Climate/Environment: The World Around Us

Engineers Make the World Work Smarter

Lifelong Learning and Career Opportunities in Education

Outside the Box: Unique and Non-Traditional Careers

When Creativity and Career Collide

Students will utilize FlexTime Manager (CCW site) to plan their day based on their career interests. OC Counselors will provide insight on how to pose articulate questions as well as general conference decorum. Given the professional nature of the symposium, students are permitted to wear either their school uniform or business attire.

Thank you to the following women who volunteered their time to share their stories and inspire our students!
