Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Department seeks to instill aesthetic awareness in each student that is involved in the program. The understanding, appreciation, and production of art are developed through practical application and active participation. The core of the program is dedicated to unlocking the imagination, encouraging creativity, and developing critical thinking in each student. As such, the Visual Arts Department hopes to develop the whole person, providing the student with opportunities to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

Congratulations to OC's art instructor, Mrs. Megan Koroly!

Mrs. Koroly is the recipient of the 2020 Golden Apple Award of the Diocese of Pittsburgh for outstanding teaching.

Mrs. Koroly "feels all teachers are Golden Apple teachers because of the times we're in and the challenges we face alone in the classroom and together as a faculty."

She accepted the award in the OC art studio, in front of one of her own beautiful pieces.

Spring Art Festival

Each Spring, OC's Fine Arts Department showcases our students' talents at the OC Spring Art and Music Festival. Extraordinary pieces of art are on display throughout the main building and beautiful music is sung throughout the evening.
