Free Verse
Oakland Catholic and Central Catholic's A Cappella group, Free Verse, is full of talented young vocalists!
Free Verse, was created in 2016 by Central Catholic alum Tucker Helms. In its inaugural year the group placed 2nd in the Great Lakes Region Semifinals in The International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA). They also won awards that year for Best Vocal Percussion and Best Arrangement. Free Verse has competed in ICHSA every year since then, and in their 3rd year (2019) won another award for Best Arrangement.
In 2020, students not only joined their beautiful voices together, but also their tech skills creating several arrangements over zoom.
