The Educational Improvement Tax Credit, commonly referred to as EITC, is a Pennsylvania state program that provides business owners and corporations with a 75% tax credit for donations to a non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organization. The tax credit increases to 90% if the company commits to making the same donations for two consecutive years.
EITC allows Pennsylvania businesses to divert state business taxes from Harrisburg to help families pay tuition at Oakland Catholic High School.
Ask your employer to consider reallocating tax dollars to Oakland Catholic High School. Or, if you own a business, ask your accountant if you are eligible to participate in EITC. The tax credit money is limited and becomes available on July 1st.
For detailed information on how to apply, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's website.
Additionally, if you know of a business owner whom you believe would be willing to support Oakland Catholic High School by participating in EITC, please contact Erin Cannon, Director of Constituent Relations (email@example.com or 412.682.6633 ext. 263) so that we can discuss the process.
Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit, commonly referred to as OSTC, is a Pennsylvania state program that provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to an Opportunity Scholarship Organization. Business contributions are then used by Opportunity Scholarship Organizations to provide tuition assistance, in the form of scholarships, to eligible students residing within the boundaries of a low-achieving school to attend another public school outside of their district or nonpublic school. A low-achieving school is defined as a public elementary or secondary school ranking in the bottom 15 percent of their designation as an elementary or secondary school based upon combined math and reading Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) scores.
Please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's website for details on how to apply.
Within the website you will also find a complete list of school districts that qualify for OSTC funding.
