College Counseling Events
Oakland Catholic will be offering a free in-school proctored practice SAT and ACT this fall.
- Wednesday, September 30th - Practice SAT
- Wednesday, October 7th - Practice ACT
Each test will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Aux Gym. Be sure to bring two number two pencils and a calculator.
Can't make it? Revolution Prep offers free proctored practice exams online every weekend. Be sure to visit their website to register for an online practice exam.
Registration is required, as we will need to limit the total number of students in order to ensure safe social distancing practices. If you would like to register and save your spot, please visit here by Friday, September 25th.

The English department will be offering assistance with college essays and writing pieces during Writing Center Wednesdays. Drop in for a 15 minute session between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays this fall. All sessions will take place via Zoom. Be sure to drop in on the hour, quarter hour, or half hour to maximize your time at the writing center! The Zoom link can be accessed via email.
This year, colleges will be visiting Oakland Catholic virtually.
These visits will take place via Zoom on Wednesdays through November. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors can view and register for upcoming visits on SCOIR.

It is highly recommended that seniors reference these resources when completing applications.

Financial Aid Night 2020
Please join Amy Sawdey, PHEAA's Higher Education Access Partner in Allegheny County, for a Virtual Financial Aid Night Webinar from the comfort of your home. This presentation will provide an early understanding of the financial decisions students need to make concerning higher education. Amy will discuss higher education costs, the types of financial aid available, and how to apply for financial aid. Participants will have the opportunity to enter questions in the Q & A section at any time, as well as at the end of the presentation.
