From the Desk of the Athletic Director
Welcome to the Athletics Department at Oakland Catholic High School! I am Dr. Karen Hall, the Athletic Director. In my role, I lead our student athletes and coaches, manage 16 interscholastic sports, and oversee the business of the athletic department in this new era.
My approach to the athletic development of young women is guided by three fundamental beliefs:
- We are most effective when we educate the whole person;
- Extracurricular activities provide ample opportunity to apply this holistic approach;
- Our teaching and learning should be guided by the teachings of God.
Through dedication to sport, our student athletes evolve inwardly and outwardly - developing physical, emotional and mental strength amid challenges and successes. The athletic department is also committed to achieving larger goals for the overall sports program through modernization and improved cooperation.
Under my leadership, respect, honesty, open communication, and adherence to the rules and policies of OCHS, WPIAL, and PIAA will be paramount. Decisions within the athletics department will be made in the best interest of both present and future student athletes – they are our priority. Respectful communication is necessary and expected. The Communication Progression outlines the process that allows parents, coaches, student athletes, and all stakeholders interested in a thriving OC sports program to express views appropriately and in the best interest of the student athletes and the school. Time to get to work!
