BAM! Because Academics Matter
WHAT: A joint venture between Oakland Catholic High School and Central Catholic High School, BAM! is an academic summer enrichment program for girls and boys entering the 7th and 8th grades. Girls take classes on the OC Campus and boys at Central.
WHO: Pre-7th and Pre-8th grade girls
WHEN: June 17 - 28, 2019 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
COST: $225 per week OR $400 for both weeks ($50 discount!)
Activities and electives will be different each week, so campers should feel free to register for both weeks!
BAM! is a great way to get a glimpse into the academic program at Oakland Catholic High School. By coming to the OC campus, engaging with experienced OC Faculty and OC Students, and meeting girls from other schools, you'll feel better prepared for high school both academically and socially. WHAT WILL I LEARN?
BAM! concentrates on developing the Writing and Math skills crucial to a successful academic high school career. Each day, campers participate in one session of writing and one of math. the third session, campers pursue a different elective each week. Electives include LEGO Robotics, Simple Machines, Material Science, and AERO Lab. (Cartooning is offered at Central during Week One as an optional afternoon add-on.)

Once exposed to academic rigor in this fun, nurturing environment, campers feel ready to transition to high school in a year or two!
WHO WILL TEACH ME?
Oakland Catholic faculty members with years of expertise and incredible passion for teaching enthusiastically engage campers in their respective fields. Through innovative hands-on projects, guidance, and support, they help campers build knowledge and high level skills while ensuring they have lots of fun! In addition, current OC students serve as teachers' aides and mentors offering further insight into the OC experience.
