BAM! Because Academics Matter is an academic enrichment program built around individual workshops focused on various concentrations. Learn new things, make new friends and meet OC faculty! Come explore, discover, and grow with us at one of our Saturday BAM! (Because Academics Matter) Workshops or Summer Camp Sessions.

FOR: Girls currently in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade

SUMMER CAMP HOURS: Partial-Day: 9 AM - 12 PM, Full-Day: 9 AM - 2 PM

SUMMER CAMP COSTS: Partial-Day: $60 per session, Full-Day: $100 per session

June 12, 2025 - Engraver Adventures

Join Ms. Dean, OC Director of Academic Technology, in the OC Innovation Lab to get creative and use the laser engraver and build a project of your choosing! Max Capacity: 15 students

June 24, 2025 - Turning Lemons into Lemon Gelato

Join Italian Teacher, Ms. Pazzaglia, as she leads a fun session about the culture of citrus in Italy. Conclude the session by making your own lemon gelato boat! Max Capacity: 15 students

June 10, 2025 - Clay Mug Workshop - Completed, thank you to our attendees!

Join Mrs. Koroly, OC Art Teacher, in the OC Pottery Studio as she teaches students how to make slab-built ceramic mugs! Max Capacity: 12 students

2024-2025 BAM Saturday Workshops

Join us in the Innovation Lab as we make our own personalized whiteboard stands. These are the perfect addition to your desk or room, and you can decorate them however you would like! We will also engrave the stands with your name or logo using our laser engraver. It will be a fun session led by Ms. Gabrielle Dean, our Director of Academic Technology.

Join Spanish teacher Mrs. Gretchen Wolfe-Anselmo as she leads a piñata-making session!

Piñatas are used for all kinds of Mexican celebrations, and they often contain a variety of Catholic symbolism as well, so they are the perfect project for our upcoming BAM Saturday Workshop.
