What is Honors Convocation?
Students whose achievements have been recognized by various outside organizations, colleges, and universities with academic and scholarship awards will be formally acknowledged at the Honors Convocation ceremony held in late April of the current academic year. An official letter from the school will be mailed and emailed to families of award recipients in advance of Honors Convocation; we ask that families respond with the number of persons attending via email or the tab above.
Please note: Although we are proud of our many students who achieve honor roll each quarter, Honors Convocation is very specifically designed to recognize those students who have been especially recognized for their academic achievements above and beyond their grades. Only Seniors who have attained specific cumulative GPAs across all four years of study in high school will receive awards specific to their grade point averages. (i.e. Seniors awarded the National President's Silver and Gold GPA awards, announcement of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating class, etc.)
Please refer to the Oakland Catholic High School Student/Parent Handbook for further clarification.
