This spring, the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Western Pennsylvania (CLTA-WPA) bestowed three of its only sixteen awards for excellent writing on students from Oakland Catholic High School. The CLTA-WPA was founded in 2014 to promote quality teaching and learning of Chinese language and culture. Board members from nearby educational institutions including Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh carefully reviewed all submissions before presenting OCHS students Mary Doerfler, Mandy Zheng and Kennedi Wade with the accolades.
