On November 9th, members of the Pittsburgh community from every race and religion gathered in the midst of a downpour at Point State Park to honor the victims of the tragic Tree of Life Shooting and share messages of peace, unity and compassion. OC Senior Alex Ravano represented her cultural dance group, the Philippines and our own OC community on stage at the event, along with speakers Mayor Peduto, Rabbi Myers from Tree of Life, Wasi Mohamed from the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh, Tom Hanks, and Michael Keaton. Alex described the event as inspiring: "Despite the frigid rain, my heart immediately warmed seeing Pittsburghers from all backgrounds come together to support one another. I felt tremendous Pittsburgh pride come over me when I saw a multitude of people braving the weather and showing just how tough Pittsburgh is and how much we will overcome together."
