OC Represented at PMEA Regional Chorus Festival

This past weekend, Greater Latrobe High School held the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Region V Chorus Festival, hosting schools from District 1 (Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties) and District 5 (Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties). Mrs. Sonya Caceres and Mia Fantini, '20 represented Oakland Catholic High School at the Festival, the former as an adjudicator and the latter as a performer.

Mia and the rest of the talented members of the Region Chorus were led by prestigious guest director, Dr. Andrew Clark, Director of Choral Activities and Senior Lecturer on Music at Harvard University. In the final selection, "All of Us" from Considering Mathew Shepard, Mia wowed audiences singing the alto part of a solo trio which she was awarded after a competitive selection process.

Mia also advanced to the PMEA All-State Choir Festival, part of the National Association of Music Educators All-Eastern Conference April 3rd - 7th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The All-State Chorus will perform Saturday, April 6th at 3pm. Congratulations on an impressive accomplishment Mia. Brava!
