
Margaret Jankowski, '20 participated in the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Academy this past summer at Magee Women's Research Institute. She was one of two students hosted by the Lee/Oesterreich Lab. The purpose of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Academy is to strive "to provide cutting edge research and career preparatory experiences to a diverse group of highly motivated high school students who are pursuing higher education and careers in STEM fields, especially research and medicine."
At the conclusion of the program on August 2nd, each academy student gave a presentation on their research. Margaret was selected by a panel of judges for the best presentation from the Women's Cancer Research Center at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Academy. Her winning presentation was entitled, "Role of CaSR in invasive lobular carcinoma cell migration."
