Model United Nations Conference

On October 26, eighteen Pitt Model UN students attended the University of Pittsburgh Model United Nations Conference, which was held in person on Pitt's campus for the first time since 2019. Our students discussed topics such as promoting literacy, biological weapons, sustainability, social media, and historic crises. It was a productive day of learning, collaborating, and debating global issues with over 250 high school students present. Oakland Catholic students succeeded in writing exceptional position papers, with five students winning awards in their committees. First place awards were presented to Melina Bui '26, Giovanna Herron '26, and Maia Ramirez '25. Jamison Murphy '26 and Lauren Osth ’25 earned second place awards.
