Future Engineers Showcase Talents at Robotics Competition

This past weekend, Robotics Team members Alana Fantini '23 and Elena Ziccarelli '21 represented OC at the Pennsylvania FIRST Tech Challenge. At this sports-like STEM competition, participants tested the sophisticated machines they designed, built and programmed in unique floor games. The OC robots faced off against a slew of competitors in five qualifying matches, racking up points in every match by overcoming obstacles with skilled maneuvers, and touting winning alliances in two of them. Coach, mentor and Computer Science teacher Ms. Amy Blackmond commended the girls' performances, noting they "learned a lot from this and seem excited to innovate and improve for next time!"
