EPIC Plane Project

This year in Mr. Graner's Engineering Design class, students worked diligently on remote controlled airplanes.  They used the base system called power-up 4.0, which is an app controlled engine with steering capabilities.  It is extremely lightweight and can be added to paper, styrofoam, and balsa wood airplanes.  A lot of time was spent figuring out the best designs and materials.

In true EPIC fashion... students and Mr. Graner scaled up the best design to achieve a total wingspan of 6ft.  It was a bit of a time crunch at the end, but the the final coat of paint was added in the knick of time. Students tested their planes for flight abilities in the Aux Gym before heading outside.
