OC's Mrs. Nevenka DePasquale was honored to tour Croatian Prime Minister through St. Nicholas Croatian Church in Millvale.
"It was a tremendous honor and privilege to give a tour of St. Nicholas Croatian church to Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic. He was genuinely interested in learning the history of famous murals. The walls of St. Nick's church tell a story of Divine suffering and sacrifice God gave for humanity, but furthermore include murals of human suffering through wars (WWI and II) as well as sacrifices that our Croatian immigrants made for the new country and home. His excellency, Mr. Plenkovic is very gracious and personable and very impressed with the work of Croatian Fraternal Union and Croatian community in Pittsburgh."
While spending time with Mr. Plenkovic, Mrs. DePasquale discovered that they both attended the University of Zagreb, Law School at the same time. In addition, one of the prominent government officials in Croatia and a member of Mr. Plenkovic's political party was Mrs. DePasquale's classmate in high school.
