Chamber Singers in the Windy City

April 12-15, 2018 our OC Chamber Singers traveled to Chicago for The Windy City Class sponsored by the Performing Arts Consultants. They traveled with Mrs. Sonya Caceras and parent chaperones. This trip consisted of an itinerary that was filled to the brim trip with educational, spiritual and enriching experiences.

The group traveled to the University of Notre Dame and toured the campus; praying at the beautiful and serene grotto was a beautiful experience. That evening they stopped and shopped in the chic city of Naperville.

Friday was competition day at the Schaumberg Performing Arts Center. The students did a brilliant job and then received a mini class with the two judges of the competition. Then they were off to downtown Chicago to explore. Some students rode the Ferris Wheel while others explored Navy Pier and downtown sites. Dinner was held at the famous Rainforest Cafe! Next up the Chamber Singers traveled to see Tartuffe at Wheaton College where they met with OC alumna Mary Katherine Daigle '17. She gave a great tour of the campus.

Saturday the group drove through Northwestern University and went to the Bahal' Temple. They had the opportunity to work in a masterclass at St. Walter's Church with master clinician, Dr. Franklin Gallo. The day rounded out by stopping briefly for lunch in downtown Chicago and then attending our Awards Ceremony at Drury Lane Theater and seeing the show South Pacific.

The OC Chamber Singers received 1st place at the competition! Stop by the Main Office to check out their beautiful trophy.
