Alumna Featured for Veterinary Achievements

Students at St. George's University in Grenada are quick to inform prospectives that it's not all about the beautiful sunsets. According to them, the pristine beaches are as beautiful as the schoolwork is challenging. OCHS alumna Claire Kuszajewski '12 has certainly made the most of her time on the island over the past three years. In a recent edition of the magazine "Ins and Outs of Grenada," a feature on Claire highlights all the ways she has taken advantage of the unique environment - hiking mountain trails, snorkeling beneath the waves, and picnicking by waterfalls, to name a few.

These pastimes haven't distracted from her studies, though. After completing her master's requirements, Claire began working toward her PhD in veterinary medicine. Even with a full course load, field experience and outdoor excursions filling her days, she always finds time to volunteer, putting her growing knowledge base to good use for a good cause: "As a student living in Grenada, it was a privilege to contribute to the great community outreach work that the GSPCA does." Between her current philanthropy and future plans, Claire is poised to make a positive impact in the field of veterinary medicine.
