Language Fair - Bigger Than Ever Before!
On Wednesday, April 11th, Oakland Catholic celebrated the third annual Language Fair with the biggest fair yet! Students and faculty gathered in the Aux Gym and the Donahue Pavilion to engage in games, crafts, dances, and presentations to learn more about languages and cultures around the world. Students created Chinese Zodiac characters, decorated Venetian masks, made bracelets representing world flags, and created Gods Eyes. They answered trivia questions ranging from geography, to recognizing written languages and linking phrases to the Bible. They raced in Chair-iots in the Circus Minimus. These are just a handful of 30 booths offered by students and faculty during the two CCW sessions.
Below are the results of the OC travels from the language fair. The juniors were the most travelled class! In total, the whole OC community has travelled to over 100 countries! The maps depict each class based on class color (pink- freshmen, green-sophomore, red- junior, blue- senior, black- faculty). The burgundy map shows the total travels of the whole school community. -- Ms. Heather Day
