In the past month alone, Senior Jayla Ellis has won multiple first place medals, beaten several records, and been featured in the Tribune, and that was all before her epic performance at WPIALS! Once again proving herself a hard-working, high-performing and versatile member of the track team, Jayla competed in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and 4x400-meter relay this past Thursday at Slippery Rock. Not only did she win the high jump, adding to her cache of career WPIAL gold medals, she beat both her personal best and a WPIAL all-time record by running the 100-meter hurdles in 13.93 seconds. As the first runner to break 14 seconds, we celebrate her amazing accomplishment and all that we know she'll wow us with when she begins competing at Purdue next year. Congratulations, Jayla!
