Lyndsie Whitehead, OCHS’03, is a recipient of the Fulbright Nehru Student Research grant to conduct her doctoral research in India. In alignment with India’s National Education Policy, Lyndsie’s research will focus on the the push-pull factors that influence international student mobility.
India has the world’s second largest higher education system, with more than 800 universities, 39,000 colleges and a capacity of enrolling more than 20 million students. Through her research, Lyndsie aims to explore approaches for policy makers, administrators, and faculty to better understand the decision-making process of international students to study abroad. Lyndsie attributes the pursuit of her PhD in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University, to the foundation of academic excellence she received from attending Oakland Catholic High School.
