Data Jam is a data analysis competition organized by Pittsburgh DataWorks, a non-profit organization, with assistance from Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and leading local and global data analytics firms.
Since September, Oakland Catholic's Data Jam team has been working on a project examining the relationship between alcohol-related car accidents in Allegheny County and the presence of ridesharing companies like Uber and lyft.
On Thursday, April 4, the competition comes to a close as Oakland Catholic High School hosts all eighteen local school teams. All teams will present their final posters and findings to a panel of judges.The presentations will be followed by a reception at the University of Pittsburgh's University Club. County Executive, Rich Fitzgerald will be kicking off the event and awards will be presented to the top teams.
