The OC Data Jam team presented in the virtual DataJam Finale on Thursday, May 6. The team of Olivia Marangoni, OCHS'21, Angela McKinzie, OCHS'21, Roisin Tsang, OCHS'24, and Yolanda Yang, OCHS'22, presented their poster on "Polling Location Accessibility in Allegheny County by Median Income, Race, Population, and Political Party Demographics."
Right before the awards were distributed, the lead judge commented on how this was the most competitive year in DataJam due to the caliber of topics, the data analyses performed, and presentations.
Olivia, Angela, Roisin, and Yolanda all did a phenomenal job executing a polished and professional presentation that complemented their research and earned the team a third place trophy!
OC's DataJam Pitt mentor was quick to note how much "fun it was to work with this team" and how impressed she was with the relevance of their selected topic and the way in which the team sought, examined, and analyzed the data across multiple factors.
Special note of appreciation to Ms. Alison Perry and Mrs. Sara Spalick who coached the team to this win!
