Pittsburgh Mission

36 OC students gave their time, energy and joy to our Pittsburgh community serving  over 150 local families during the Pittsburgh Mission.

Fort Pitt Capital

On November 19, 2021, 19 Oakland Catholic seniors and juniors visited the Fort Pitt Capital Group in Pittsburgh.  Fort Pitt Capital is an independent investment management firm that provides investment advice to individuals and institutions. 

Making Our Community Greener

19 students from our OC's Environmental Club planted trees at Frick Park. Students learned about the disease that killed a lot of trees in the area and then planted new ones in their place.

HBCU Steel City Tour

14 OC students attended the Western Pennsylvania Council of Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) fair at PNC Park. All OC students have been accepted into at least one school so far!

Youth Community Achievement

Lillian Martin, OCHS'23 was presented the “Youth Community Achievement” award for her civic activism and volunteerism from an organization called Sisters Saving Ourselves Now.

Math Teacher Runs Boston Marathon

On Monday, October 11th, OC math teacher, Mrs. Elaina Tabb competed in the Boston Marathon. Mrs. Tabb was the second American female to cross the finish line finishing 12th in the women’s race and 88th overall. Congratulations!

Freshman Retreat

During the Freshman Retreat on Wednesday, October 6, it was amazing to hear from Chika Anyanwu in her talk about social media and not becoming numb to the world.
