2023 Scholastic Art Awards

Twelve OC students received awards for their beautiful art peices at the 2023 Scholastic Art Awards! The art exhibit and awards ceremony will be at held at Carnegie Mellon University. 

WPIAL Hall of Fame - Class of 2023

Congratulations to the Oakland Catholic High School 2000-01 championship basketball team coached by Suzie McConnell-Serio! They have been inducted into the WPIAL Hall of Fame Class of 2023!

YoungArts Merit Winner

Congratulations to Madeline Sclichter, OCHS '23 who has been named a 2023 YoungArts Merit Winner in the category of Voice/Singer-Songwriter.

OC Career Symposium

In our ongoing mission to prepare the young women of Oakland Catholic for the future, we are pleased to offer the OC Career Symposium to our ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders on Wednesday, February 1.  AJ Ross, OCHS ’01, joins us as the Keynote Speaker. learn more >

Coach Meg Bulger

OC Basketball hosted Alumna Night on Tuesday, January 3rd. At the game, they recognized the 2002-03 PIAA State Championship team! Meg Bulger was a member of this team and in attendance. She currently coaches girls basketball at Sacred Heart Elementary School.

Caroline McShea, OCHS'21

OC alumna, Caroline McShea continues to do well at Smith College. Currently, she is into her more difficult intermediate economics courses and a member of their field hockey team. Caroline is excelling in the classroom and on the field. 



Honors World History II

Students designed their own village and then simulated the Industrial Revolution’s impact on18th century England’s cities in Ms. Doyle's class. 

Inauguration Ceremony

On January 17th, Maia Ramirez, OCHS'25 and other members of the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus, were selected to perform at the Pennsylvania State Governor’s Inauguration Ceremony in Harrisburg, PA!

Junior Religion Classes

OC juniors studied Faith and Reason throughout the Fall Semester in Religion classes. Their studies culminated with creating activities and events with the purpose of showing the hospitality of the Church.

#WinAtSocial Wednesday!

This month, OC students got together for another #WinAtSocial Wednesday to talk about "Protecting Their Privacy Like They're Famous"!

The Tallest (Paper) Tower!

Mr. Graner's Creativity by Design class had a design challenge of building the tallest paper tower, using nothing else but paper itself. After some trial and error, their paper towers came to life!

CE Chemistry

CE chem students completed their 2nd Pitt lab in December. They learned how to prep standardized solutions and performed a titration to determine the balanced reaction at play.

Cheer WPIALs

The Oakland Catholic competitive cheer squad attended the WPIAL Competitive Cheerleading Championship on January 7th.  The squad did exceptionally well, holding their own in the AAA division.
