Plus is “an internet magazine which aims to introduce readers to the beauty and the practical applications of mathematics.” Among the articles: how medical statistics could have caught a hospital killer, how mathematical perspective allows us inside a work of art, the use of game theory in soccer, etc. Also includes a Careers Library.
The Math Forum: A Mathematics Internet Library
Drexel University’s Math Forum is an excellent web site for all levels of high school math. Some of the pages are dated, but there is a lot of valuable information on this site. This site currently supports over 6000 links to projects, webquests, assignments and activities that can be utilized in grades 9 through 12.
Cornell University’s–Cornell Theory Center
This web portal provides learning activities in the following areas of mathematics: general study, geometry, fractals, the history of mathematics, tables, constants and definitions. This site is well worth a look.
PBS–TeacherSource Mathematics
This web site provides some excellent resources for math teachers. Lesson plans, activities, on-line videos of teachers modeling math lessons, and interdisciplinary ideas are provided here.
