Crew

Coach: Mr. Joseph Mariuzza

Dipping an oar into the water on the first stroke of a crisp fall afternoon is always a memorable moment. Rowing is an activity that requires both physical and mental strength and stamina, putting participants in peak condition. Oakland Catholic offers crew as a club sport at the Novice, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. The program begins in the fall with instruction and races and continues in the winter with conditioning that will prepare athletes for the demands of spring competition. Weekday practices on the beautiful Allegheny River train rowers for exciting weekend races on waterways throughout the region.

Lacrosse

Every athlete finds their niche as a member of Oakland Catholic’s Lacrosse Club. Requiring speed, strength, strategy and endurance, lacrosse rewards individual athletic prowess as well as cooperation and teamwork. From the faceoff to the buzzer, the competition is intense and exciting! OC Lacrosse is played at both the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. Practices and home games are held at Panther Hollow during the spring season.

Softball

The thrill of a double-play, a no-hitter and a homerun are all part of the excitement of playing on OC’s Softball Team. Strength, coordination and cooperation are all essentials in this fun and challenging sport. Developing technique and athleticism through dedication and discipline make this team one of the best in the region. The program offers competition at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels; all are welcome to try-out. Home games are held at Mazarowski Field.

Track

With numerous different events, everyone’s strength is prized and developed on OC’s Track and Field Team. The fastest, strongest and most determined athletes compete at the Varsity or Junior Varsity levels and consistently bring home honors and awards as some of the region’s best competitors. Indoor meets in the winter prepare participants for competition in the spring. Dash, jump and throw with us this season!
