There will be two more TIPS training sessions.  They will be held on Monday, November 7 and Monday, November 21 at 6 PM at Heinz Field.  These will be your last chances to get TIPS trained until next summer.  If you want to work at Heinz Field for the football games, you must attend one of these sessions.  This is a great way to lower your dues to the crew team.  Right now we are averaging about $90 per person per game.  This is more than we would make anywhere else.  If you attend please email Cathy Steigerwald once you complete the training.

Once you are TIPS trained volunteer workers for the following Steelers games:

November 13, Sunday 8:30 PM game time
December 4, Sunday 1:00 PM game time
December 4, Sunday 1:00 PM game time
December 4, Sunday 1:00 PM game time
December 11, Sunday 1:00 PM game time
January 1, Sunday 1:00 PM game time

11-05-05

Biathlon and other cross-training – Starting Monday, November 7 we will be performing activities to train for the biathlon on December 10 (still to be confirmed by Jay Hammond) and other cross training activities. Training days will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

All workouts will take place out of the Millvale Boat House. Please be ready to start a warm-up activity at 3:15. ( Practice should end around 5:00 PM). Be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors (even if it is raining/snowing). Running shoes are necessary every practice.

A more detailed plan will be presented at Monday's workout session.

Start thinking about your personal and team goals for the spring season as we start into the land training season.

-Coach Kuehm

02-14-02 The new boat (Vespoli 8) arrived this morning, all wrapped and secure.
The Pitt Crew carried and deposited it into the youth bay "B", in the back, on a rack relatively low to the ground. John Lichter of TRRA was instrumental in having the youth bay open and accessible. OC should consider to make a complete move to the youth bay this spring, housing all 4 of our boats in one location. Duquesne is not likely to renew our lease of space come Fall, as their program and boat count might expand over the summer.
01-25-02 Final bake sale for the year, Nancy Remaley reports,
will be held in conjunction with the basketball game at Oakland Catholic on Tuesday, February 5. The JV/Varsity games are with Indiana and it is also Senior Appreciation night so it would be great to have alot of the crew members on hand. The JV game starts at 6:00 pm and the Varsity game at 7:30. Please have the girls bring the bake sale items (packaged to sell) to practice or to school prior to the game. I'll be at practice to take any items to school. Thanks again for your support of crew with these sales.

The new boat has been purchased and in theory is to be ready for delivery sometime in January - although we may not have it shipped until February or the first of March as we will not need it until then and we will save a few months of rack rental.
It is a Vespoli - Racer.  Same as the "King."  All of the dimensions, color etc. will be pretty much the same as the King, with the exception of some larger shoes to fit those rowers who are currently "bound" by the smaller shoe sizes!
